Abstract

This essay aims to analyze the teachings of Pope Francis, emphasizing the theme of the "Church that goes forth". The importance of reflecting on the missionary nature of the Church in contemporary times is highlighted. The research carried out is of a bibliographical nature, having as its main reference the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium. It can be seen that Pope Francis proposes an outgoing Church, based on the Missio Dei, inviting all the baptized to actively participate in the evangelizing mission. Throughout her pontificate, there has been a constant effort to put into practice the principles of the Second Vatican Council, promoting a more missionary, welcoming Church, committed to the transformation of the world and with ecclesial space for women's leadership.
