This article presents a biblical-theological reflection on the mission of the early diaspora. Through the missionary activity of the Lord’s disciples, the Word of God expands not only into new geographic areas but also to new categories of people. The road and the home become the new locus of evangelization. Groups such as Gentiles, women, slaves, and eunuchs are welcomed into the heart of the community and also become protagonists in proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. The pericope in Acts 16:11–15 demonstrates the importance of women in the mission of the domestic Church, as they placed their families and homes at the service of evangelization, in a context where Christians had been expelled from the Temple and Jewish synagogues and were treated with hostility by both Jewish and Roman authorities.
