How and when did missionary work begin in the South of the World? Who carried out the evangelizing labor? The book of Acts narrates the missionary action in constant movement. The Holy Spirit moves the evangelizing work. Philip, one of the first deacons, proclaims the Gospel on the road leading down from Jerusalem to Gaza. The first African baptized by Philip was an Ethiopian who read the scriptures without understanding their profound meaning. Was this man emasculated? The narrative of Acts 8:26-40 emphasizes the divine intervention in the evangelizing work and outlines its methodology.
